Google have made it very easy to start up a Google+ account with just a few short clicks.  Here’s a guide to get you up and running.

If you haven’t received an invite from a friend or colleague to join Google+ yet, you can head to their website and sign up (plus.google.com).  Please bear in mind that Google+ is still in its testing stage at the moment, so they are only letting people join incrementally. If you don’t get in straight away, just keep checking back to see if they’ve opened it up again to more people.  If you have received an invite from a friend, it’ll look similar to the picture below.  Just follow the “Join Google+” link shown.

Next you'll be presented with the Sign In page.  Just click on the "Sign In" button as shown.

You will then be prompted to enter your Google Account details. You may already have one of these linked to an email account (if you have a Gmail account, you will automatically have a Google Account and you can sign in with that).  If you don’t , click on the “Create an account now” button.

Once you have an account set up and have signed in, you can then join Google+ and start to create your profile.

The Welcome Screen (as seen below) is your introduction into Google+.  It introduces each of the features that make Google+ unique (Circles, Hangouts and Sparks), as well as links to videos that show you how you can use them, and what they are useful for.
