Bigger really is better!

Recent studies have actually confirmed that bigger really is better!  For computer screens that is.

Many businesses orginally purchased a 15" monitor several years ago which has served them well. But if you've ever had the opportunity to use a larger screen, or even multiple screens you suddenly discover what you've been missing out on.

Various studies have been carried out in the U.S. to find out if your screen size really does make a difference to your work.  According to University of Utah researchers, a larger screen size equals increased productivity.

In a study comparing 18-inch screens to 24-inch screens, the results reported that people using the 24-inch screen completed the tasks 52% faster than people who used the 18-inch monitor.  People who used two 20-inch monitors were 44% faster than those with the 18-inch ones.  There is an upper limit however; productivity dropped off again when people used a 26-inch screen.

Overall people found that they were more productive, as they spent less time minising, resizing, moving and scrolling windows.  With a widescreen, or with two screens you also have the ability to view two applications at once, or view more pages.  When you have multiple windows open, the more desktop space you have, the more material you can handle.

So, if you want to increase productivity in your workplace then investing in larger screens is a great way to start!
